Our client is looking for a skilled Solar PV Technician to join their team in Kenya. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a European clean energy company setting up production and assembly operations focused on solar energy solutions.
Job Description
As a Solar PV Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, assembling, servicing, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems, including inverters, lithium batteries, and hybrid/grid-tied systems. You will work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure all solar installations meet industry safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys and assist in solar PV system design and layout
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain solar energy systems (inverters, lithium batteries, hybrid & grid-tied)
Set up electrical energy analyzers (data loggers) for system monitoring and performance analysis
Program and maintain battery packs, inverters, and controllers
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and manufacturer guidelines
Document installation processes, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting reports
Requirements
Proven experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of inverters, lithium batteries, grid-tied and hybrid solar systems
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills
Valid EPRA T2 or T3 Solar PV Technician License (mandatory)
Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy is an advantage
