Production Manager – Assembly Industry

Our client is looking for a talented Production Manager – Assembly Industry to lead and oversee all assembly operations at their new facility in Kenya. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in lean manufacturing principles, assembly line management, and production process optimization. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, high-quality production while driving continuous improvement and maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage all assembly line production activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

  
  

• Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes.

  
  

• Develop and maintain production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow plans.

  
  

• Lead, coach, and develop the production team to ensure high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.

  
  

• Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  
  

• Collaborate closely with quality control, engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations.

  
  

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Kaizen, 5S, and other lean tools to enhance operational efficiency.

  
  

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.

  
  

• Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

  
  

• Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management.

  
  

  Qualifications & Requirements

  
  

• Bachelor’s degree , higher national diploma or Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.

  
  

• Proven experience (5+ years) in production management within assembly or manufacturing industries.

  
  

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.

  
  

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

  
  

• Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements effectively.

  
  

• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in manufacturing environments.

  
  

• Experience in clean energy or sustainable product manufacturing is an advantage.

  
  

• Proficiency in production management software and MS Office tools.

• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification

• Familiarity with ERP systems and data-driven decision-making
