Our client in Finland is seeking highly skilled and certified Thick Plate Welders to join their expanding manufacturing team. This permanent position offers a long-term career opportunity in a modern industrial environment. Successful candidates will be supported through the residence permit process from Kenya to Finland.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional welding of black steel plates ranging from 10 mm to 60 mm (and occasionally up to 200 mm).

  
  

• Execute welding operations using MIG/MAG, GMAW, and FCAW techniques.

  
  

• Work with both solid wire and rutile wire depending on the project.

  
  

• Focus on final welding of heavy components and spare parts.

  
  

• Accurately read and interpret technical drawings to ensure precision.

  
  

• Operate welding tools such as angle grinders and Fronius welding machines.

  
  

• (Advantage) Support robotic welding processes; however, manual welding is the primary responsibility.

  
  

• Perform welding tasks subject to quality inspections, including ultrasonic testing.

  
  

• Follow strict safety standards and production guidelines.

  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in heavy plate welding or industrial fabrication.

  
  

• Ability to read and understand technical welding drawings (mandatory).

  
  

• Fluent English is required; Finnish language skills are not required.

  
  

• Must have Valid welding certifications, preferably:

  • EN ISO 9606-1, 135 & 136 (various positions: PF, PC, PD; BW & FW)

  • Experience with Esab AristoRod or OK Tuborod wire is an advantage.

• Experience with carbon arc gouging is a plus.

  
  

• Must be capable of passing a one-day welding test conducted in Finland.

  
  

• Must be fully skilled—no on-site beginner training is offered.

  
  

• Strong ability to work independently and maintain high-quality results.

Testing & Onboarding Process

• Candidates undergo a one-day welding test in Finland before final selection.

  
  

• Inspections may include ultrasonic testing to verify quality.

  
  

• Residence permit processing will be arranged from Kenya to Finland.

  
  

• A medical or health check will be coordinated as needed.

  
  

• Assistance with accommodation in nearby areas will be provided.
